Day 6

Today I believe for mustard seed faith and rely on the strength of God to see mountains move

Scripture: Matthew 17:20: He replied, "Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."

Believe: The word “believe” in the Bible means more than simply agreeing in our minds that something might be true. It means “trust”—that we believe so strongly in God that we are willing to commit our lives to Him and live the way we know He wants us to live.

Today we’ll take a look at a valuable lesson Jesus imparts about the power of faith and our reliance on God's strength to overcome life's challenges. He states, "Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." In this brief teaching, we'll explore the significance of relying on God's strength to move the mountains in our lives.

The Power of Faith:

Jesus uses the analogy of faith the size of a mustard seed, one of the tiniest seeds, to illustrate a powerful truth. He demonstrates that even the smallest amount of genuine faith can lead to extraordinary results. It's not the size of our faith that matters; it's the object of our faith. When we place our trust in God, we access His boundless strength and capabilities.

The Challenge of Life's Mountains:

Life often presents us with metaphorical mountains—challenges, obstacles, and difficulties that appear insurmountable. These can include personal struggles, daunting circumstances, or seemingly impossible goals. It's in these moments that we realise the need for something greater than our own strength.

Relying on God's Strength:

The core message of this verse is the necessity of relying on God's strength. When we face these "mountains," our faith empowers us to trust in God's ability to overcome them. We don't rely on our limited human resources alone, but rather we call upon the limitless power of the Creator of the universe.

Practical Application:

To apply this teaching, we must cultivate and strengthen our faith. This involves spending time in prayer and connection with God, meditating on His promises in His Word, and seeking guidance and encouragement from a community of believers. As we deepen our relationship with God and grow in faith, we are better equipped to face life's mountains, knowing that nothing is impossible with Him.

In Matthew 17:20, Jesus reminds us that by relying on God's strength, even the most formidable challenges can be overcome. When life's mountains seem insurmountable, remember that your faith, though as small as a mustard seed, can move them. It's not about the size of your faith but the enormity of God's strength. Trust in Him, and you'll find the power to conquer obstacles and the courage to face the seemingly impossible with unwavering faith.

Let us remember to call upon God's strength in times of need and rely on the faith that connects us to His limitless power.
